Looking from above
It tried to stay focused
The young had risen

The day's feed was due
Pandemonium! Hunger
was a driving force

Vacant looks sustained
It should change for the better
Midday was ideal

Flapped its wings, it swooped
down. Pair of prey its target
A mother's instinct

  3. I'm amazed by the synchronicity in this world. Not too long ago I stood at my dining hall window watching a pair of hawks teaching, guiding their two youngsters to hunt. I watched for quite some time as the parents chased smaller birds toward the window, stunning them. Then they joined the young in a nearby mesquite tree, chiding until they floated to the patio to gather the smaller birds. We have similar interests!

  5. Though I know all animals have their natural instincts, I always feel so very sorry for the prey! A fine write here, Hank.
